POLICE BEAT
Gardener threatens another with pruner

Advertiser Staff

During the course of an argument early last week between two gardeners in Pearl City, the older man threatened the other man with a garden pruner and a one-handed sickle, police said.

The victim did not report the 11:40 a.m. Oct. 16 incident until Friday.

The 39-year-old victim identified the 59-year-old suspect to police, who then arrested the elder man for investigation of 1st-degree Terroristic Threatening, police said. The garden pruner was confiscated as evidence.

Three arrested for theft of aluminum

Three people were arrested Saturday for allegedly stealing aluminum planks from a business at Campbell Industrial Park, police said.

The suspects — a 45-year-old man, a 43-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman — are suspected of taking the siding from a business on Hanua Street, police said.

The owner of the business told police that the thefts took place between Oct. 15 and Saturday.

The allegedly then exchanged the aluminum for cash at a recycling center, police said. Charges are pending further investigation.
