State gets $10 million for substance abuse programs

The state has received a $10.465 million grant to improve substance abuse prevention planning and programs.

Hawai'i was one of 16 states to receive the five year grant from the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

The money will be used to strengthen the statewide substance abuse prevention plan.
