Punahou girls beat Iolani in ILH volleyball

Advertiser Staff

The Punahou girls volleyball defeated 'Iolani, 25-15, 25-17 in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu postseason tournament semifinal match last night at Punahou School in front of about 600 fans.

Punahou (14-2) advances to the tournament championship to play Kamehameha, the first-round winner and 25-21, 25-21 winner over Hawai'i Baptist last night.

Should the Warriors win the ILH tournament, which will be decided when Punahou plays at Kamehameha tomorrow, they will be crowned ILH champ and awarded the league's top berth in the state tournament.

Punahou and 'Iolani (13-3), the second-place finisher in the first round, would play off for the ILH's second state tournament spot.

If Punahou wins, it plays Kamehameha for the overall title.
