Motorists told to avoid Moanalua-Kaonohi intersection

Advertiser Staff

Motorists are advised to avoid the intersection of Moanalua Road and Kaonohi Street for the next three weeks while the city changes the pavement markings.

Work will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. near Pearlridge Center and the Kam Swap Meet.

The work includes adding another left-turn lane from Kaonohi Street, while removing one of the makai-bound through lanes. Moanalua Road will get a dedicated right-turn lanes and lose some parking spots. Additional construction includes a raised median and a four-foot high chain link fence to prevent jaywalking.

The project will cost $414,763.
