Outrigger affilate to manage Pacific Beach Hotel

Advertiser Staff

The Pacific Beach Hotel will be managed by an affiliate of Outrigger Enterprises Group, hotel owner HTH Corp. announced yesterday.

Pacific Beach Hotel Management LLC, a new entity of Outrigger, will take over management of the 837-room hotel Jan. 1. The hotel's 572 employees will be hired under the new management agreement. The hotel's name will not be changed, and HTH Corp. will continue to manage the Pagoda Hotel and the King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel. HTH Corp. will also continue to manage the Pacific Beach Hotel's retail shops and garage.

The Pacific Beach Hotel was purchased in 1970 by Herbert T. Hayashi and is known for its indoor, three-story Oceanarium, which was created in 1978. Hayashi, who founded HTH Corp., died in November.
