Police officer injured in wreck

City EMS personnel transport a Honolulu police officer after his vehicle was involved in a wreck at the corner of School Street and Pali Highway. The officer, who was in fair condition, had been pursuing a suspicious vehicle.

A Honolulu police officer was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in fair condition after he was into a car collision while pursuing a suspect this morning, police said.

Shortly before 10 a.m., patrol officers were responding to a call reporting suspicious activity of some kind on Prospect Street.

During a brief pursuit, one of the officers got into a car collision at the corner of School Street and Pali , police said.

A news conference at 3 p.m. at HPD's Alapai Street Headquarters is scheduled.
