Mild, dry weather expected today

Advertiser Staff

Nothing dramatic in the forecast today, just mild, dry conditions, the National Weather Service said.

A few scattered showers can be found throughout the state this morning. Most spots overnight saw very little rain - a preview, perhaps, of the approaching El Nino winter and its dry, cool conditions. It will be partly cloudy throughout today.

Light overnight rain should be the pattern through Sunday, when increasing showers are forecast for Kauai.

The stiff trades of the past few days are weakening, with 10 to 15 mph winds out of the east expected today. Those conditions should prevail through the weekend, the weather service said.

Temperature highs will be 83 to 88 degrees with nighttime lows of 65 to 70s degrees.
