Advertiser Entertainment Writer

Film writer and director Cameron Crowe, the man behind "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and the recent "Elizabethtown," will hold a videoconference for Academy for Creative Media students at the University of Hawai'i from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The ACM and Directors Guild of America are presenting the live-from-Los Angeles session, which will be moderated by director Randal Kleiser.

Other Crowe hits include "Jerry Maguire" and "Almost Famous."

Kleiser is best known for helming such films as "Blue Lagoon," "Grease" and "It's My Party."

ACM director Chris Lee and assistant professor Joel Moffett will moderate from Kuykendall 201 on the UH-Manoa campus.

The session, intended for master-class ACM students, will be the first of many videoconferences with notable filmmakers.
