Surf to rise on north, south shores

Advertiser Staff

The surf should rise today on north and south shores, but the easterly tradewind swell has declined enough to cancel the high surf advisory for east shores, the National Weather Service said.

Those east-facing shores should be 5 to 7 feet all day and drop all weekend.

North and west shores will be 2 to 4 feet today but look for a new northerly swell late today or early tomorrow with another swell after that arriving Sunday, the weather service said.

South shores will be 4 to 6 feet through today. Additional swells are forecast through the weekend.
