Wilson finishes with 3-over 74

Advertiser Staff

Former Kaneohe resident Dean Wilson shot a 3-over 74 today and finished in a tie for 55th place in the Chrysler Championship in Palm Harbor, Fla.

K.J. Choi hit a 3-wood into 20 feet for an eagle on the opening hole, staking him to a big lead he never surrendered at Innisbrook. He closed with a 4-under 67 for a four-shot victory over Paul Goydos (70) and Brett Wetterich (66), making him eligible for the next two tournaments -- the Tour Championship next week, and the winners-only Mercedes-Benz Championship to start next year.

Choi finished at 13-under 271 for his second win in the event in five years.

Wilson had four birdies in his round. But he was doomed by a double bogey on the first hold and a triple bogey on the 16th. He also bogeyed the 18th.

His four-round total was 4-over 288, earning him $12,084.
