Transit recommendation expected today

Advertiser Staff

Mayor Mufi Hannemann and members of the Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project team will hold a news conference at 2:30 p.m. today to discuss the city's mass transit alternatives analysis.

The analysis evaluates four transit alternatives — from rail to a no-build option — and identifies the best solution for Honolulu based on criteria including cost, ridership, environmental and social impact and the potential to reduce the growth of traffic congestion.

The news conference will be held in the Mayor's Conference Room.
