Hilton earnings rise 31% in third quarter from year ago

Hilton Hotels Corp., which operates the Hilton Hawaiian Village and Hilton Waikoloa Village hotels here, reported net income in the three months ended Sept. 30 rose to $117 million, a 31 percent increase from a year earlier.The company said in a press statement that its biggest U.S. markets, including Hawaii, were exhibiting the strongest demand, though said revenue growth per available room at Waikiki's Hawaiian Village was "significantly impacted" by renovation disruptions.
