UH's Barsi named WAC swimmer of the week

Claudia Barsi of the University of Hawai'i was named Western Athletic Conference women's swimming and diving athlete of the week, the conference announced today.Barsi, a senior from Budapest, Hungary, set UH records in a dual meets against Santa Barbara in the 1,650-yard freestyle (16 minutes, 41.23 seconds) and the 1,000 freestyle (10:01.02). She also had second-place finishes in the 500 freestyle (twice) and 200 butterfly.
Her time in the 1,650 freestyle also was a provisional NCAA qualifying time.
