Balmy weather expected for Labor Day weekend

The weather for our long, Labor Day weekend is shaping up nicely.

There should be plenty of sun with a few showers here and there, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast.

And a high pressure system located far northeast of the state will keep moderate trade winds blowing through the weekend and into the middle of next week helping to keep things cool, forecasters said.

Most clouds and showers will be limited to windward and mauka areas.

Here's a detailed look at what to expect:

Today, mostly sunny in the morning, then becoming partly cloudy. Isolated showers. Highs 81 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 66 to 77. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Saturday, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs 81 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Saturday night, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 66 to 77. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs 81 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. Sunday night, mostly clear with isolated showers. Lows 66 to 78. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
