Irish company acquires RSI

Honolulu-based RSI Roofing and Building Supply is being acquired by Allied Building Materials, a U.S. affiliate of an Irish company, RSI officials said yesterday.

RSI, founded in 1983, is Hawai'i's largest distributor of roofing, siding and waterproofing products with locations on O'ahu, Maui, the Big Island and Kaua'i, according to the company. Allied Building Materials is an affiliate of Dublin-based CRH.

The deal is expected to close by the end of the year. Terms were not disclosed. No changes to the company is expected.


CLEANING FIRM CHANGING HANDS

Local cleaning firm Hawaiian Building Maintenance is being sold by its Massachusetts-based owner.

UNICCO Service Co. informed the state that its sale of Hawaiian Building will involve the new owner offering employment to all of Hawaiian Building's 742 employees.

The buyer, HBM Acquisitions LLC, is an affiliate of San Francisco-based financial services firm ATEL Capital Group.


ASTON MARTIN PUT UP FOR SALE

DETROIT — Aston Martin, the icon of luxury sports cars made famous in James Bond movies, has been put up for sale by the struggling Ford Motor Co., it said yesterday.

Ford said in a statement that it is exploring the sale of all or part of the British-based carmaker, in part to raise capital for its other brands.
