Keali'i Reichel's cast of thousands (OK, more than 40) comes to Blaisdell Concert Hall in his multimedia extravaganza "Kukahi 2006." Aside from appearances with the Honolulu Symphony, Reichel, below, hasn't held a solo concert in Honolulu since 1999. Now he returns with his Halau Ke'alaokamaile, a state-of-the-art high-definition video system and of course his award-winning music.

Concerts at the convention center? That's what people said last year with the launch of Hawaiian Music Nights. It was a hit, and the fall series is back. Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom kicks things off at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8, then we get a glimpse of the new, longish-haired Jake Shimabukuro, right, back from a tour in Japan, where he's the bomb. His appearance coincides with the release of his new Beatles-referencing CD "Gently Weeps," which he recorded in Nashville (yes, there's a cover of George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" on the album).

7:30 p.m. Sept. 30 / Hawai'i Convention Center, Lili'u Room / $27.50 / 550-8457, www.honoluluboxoffice.com
