Lawler, Miller clear weight limit for tonight's title bout

Advertiser Staff

The wait and the weights are done for Robbie Lawler and Jason "Mayhem" Miller.

Lawler and Miller both made the 185-pound weight limit yesterday for tonight's highly anticipated middleweight championship bout in the Icon Sport mixed martial arts organization.

"It's time for business now," Lawler said.

Lawler is 11-3 and has held the Icon Sport middleweight championship belt since July 2005. He is considered a knockout specialist, and eight of his victories have been by knockout.

Miller is 16-4 and the No. 1 contender in the middleweight division. He is 7-0 in Hawai'i, and has become a fan favorite at the Blaisdell Arena. Miller is a jiu-jitsu expert, and 11 of his wins have come via opponent submission.

"I love hype, don't get me wrong," Miller said. "But enough is enough. I'm ready to get it on already."

Tickets are available at the Blaisdell box office. Preliminaries are expected to begin around 7:30 p.m.
