Sticky weather will be sticking around

Advertiser Staff

So, you say, you like high humidity?

You got it.

In droves.

At 6 a.m. today, the humidity at the airport was a steamy 85 percent and lighter than normal trade winds will continue, resulting in the same kind of afternoon stickiness we experienced yesterday.

Local sea breezes will again produce cloud buildups and a few showers over the interiors of the islands this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

But the trade winds should return to light to moderate tonight and tomorrow and continue through the rest of the week, forecasters said. Thank goodness.

Here's how the work week is shaping up:

Today, mostly sunny. Isolated showers in the afternoon. Highs 81 to 88. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. Tonight, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 66 to 75. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Wednesday, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs 81 to 88. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. Wednesday night, partly cloudy with scattered showers. Lows 66 to 77. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

Thursday, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs 81 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. Thursday Night, partly cloudy with scattered showers. Lows 67 to 77. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.
