Only zipper lane to be shut for morning rush hour

Advertiser Staff

State Department of Transportation officials advise that the H-1 Freeway town-bound zipper lane will not be in operation for morning rush hour until further notice.

However, officials are hopeful that all other town-bound and 'ewa-bound lanes will be open tomorrow morning.

Workers tonight are demolishing at least the mauka half of the freeway's 'Aiea pedestrian overpass after a military vehicle rammed through it this afternoon, rendering it unsafe and clogging traffic for thousands of O'ahu commuters.
