Police Beat: Suspected arrested in assault case

Advertiser Staff

A 47-year-old Nanakuli man was arrested yesterday in connection with an incident on Aug. 11 in which a 57-year-old man reported being punched and threatened with a car jack.

The older man said he was arguing with the other man, who is described as a family member, when the younger man punched him, threatened to kill him and attempted to kill him with the jack.

Police said Wai'anae Coast crime reduction unit members located the suspect yesterday on suspicion of third-degree assault and terroristic threatening.

Resisting arrest was added to the list of alleged offenses, police said, after the man tried to prevent officers from arresting him.
