THIRTYNINEHOTEL AT 2

That Chinatown hot spot thirtyninehotel is celebrating its 2nd anniversary Sept. 30 with a big party that brings back New York's DJ Nicky Siano, who manned the turntables at the first birthday bash, too. DJ Harvey, thirtyninehotel's music director and partner, also will spin — and a recording of the collaboration between the two DJs is planned.

Hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. It's for those 21 and older. 599-2552.

FREE HIP-HOP CONCERT, TOO

A homegrown hip-hop concert titled "onthe1: special delivery" gets started at 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa's Hemenway Courtyard.

The performers: Kavet the Catalyst, Soul Pacific, AudibleLabRats, Vitalsee, Tempo Valley and DJ Observ. KTUH radio's Jake the Snake is your host.
