Police Beat: Attempted theft leads to arrest

Police arrested a 28-year-old man early yesterday morning in Mililani after a 32-year-old man reported someone was trying to break into his car.

Police arrived about 2:45 a.m., determined the door locks on both sides of the car had been damaged and located a suspect who was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted entry into a motor vehicle, a felony.

Police said the man who arrested never got into the car and case was later reclassified to fourth-degree criminal property damage, a misdemeanor.

Suspect arrested after slashing man during fight

A 41-year-old man was arrested Saturday night after he allegedly slashed a 26-year-old man in the arm along Meheula Parkway in Mililani.

Police were told that the two men were arguing about 9:30 p.m. when the older man pulled a 9-inch kitchen knife from his bag and slashed the other man on his left arm.

Police said the injured man retreated into a nearby business and called police.

The suspect left the area before police arrived but the found him at his home and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Husband arrested after violating TRO

An 'Ewa Beach man was arrested on suspicion of multiple felony offenses following a confrontation with his estranged wife in 'Ewa Beach Saturday afternoon.

Police were told the man arrived at the estranged wife's home about 3:50 p.m., was armed with a handgun and threatened to kill her.

They were told that a neighbor intervened and managed to disarm the husband who was able to force his wife back into the house.

Police officers who were called to the home managed to find the husband and arrest him on suspicion of first-degree burglary, first-degree terroristic threatening, kidnapping, failing to properly store a firearm and violating a temporary restraining order.

The wife was unharmed police said.

Police find drugs on man caught sleeping in stolen truck

Police arrested a 40-year-old man on Saturday in connection with an incident on Wednesday in which he was found in Nanakuli sleeping in a stolen truck that still had its motor running.

Police said the truck belongs to a 42-year-old man whose girlfriend spotted the truck in Nanakuli and called police. Police said the owner went to the spot where the truck was found and initiated a stolen vehicle case. The owner said the truck had been missing since Sept. 2.

The man found asleep in the truck was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle. Police reported finding drugs on the man during a"pat down search" and he was also arrested on suspicion of second-degree promotion of dangerous drugs.
