IWALANI DAYTON, former director of public relations and volunteer services at Shriners Hospitals for Children Honolulu, has been promoted to director of development. The Kamehameha Schools graduate also has served as general manager, vice president of marketing and membership at Honolulu Club, and parish administrator for St. Clement's Episcopal Church. Since 1923, Shriners has provided free orthopedic care to more than 24,000 children from Hawai'i and the Pacific Basin.
Meadow Gold Dairies of Hawaii has promoted KENJI P. SAITO to Maui branch manager, overseeing some 40 employees, market development and promotions, customer service and day-to-day operations on Maui and Moloka'i. Saito began with Meadow Gold in 2004 as distribution supervisor, with responsibility for drivers and merchandisers in O'ahu's Leeward and North Shore areas. Before joining the dairy, he was a Hawaii Transfer Co. Ltd. supervisor, overseeing 30 drivers.
MICHAEL SCULLY, pastry chef and purchasing manager for Liberty House for 19 years, has been named chef instructor for the Culinary Arts Program at Leeward Community College. He also worked for the Hyatt and Hawaii Prince hotels, and most recently for Easter Seals. Scully will teach fundamentals of baking and culinary special events.
LEIGHTON "DOC" LUM has been promoted to vice president and chief environmental engineer for engineering and surveying firm R.M. Towill Corp. Lum joined the firm in 1979.
Noted biotechnology and pharmaceutical researcher ALAN McCLELLAND has joined the senior leadership team of the Cancer Research Center of Hawai'i as associate director for scientific administration. He will manage research and instructional activities, including supervising administrative support staff, recruitment efforts and the developmental funds process. His duties also will include overseeing grants. Most recently, McClelland was vice president of discovery research for Hawai'i Biotech Inc. and a biotechnology consultant. McClelland has more than 20 years of research and senior management experience, has published numerous scientific articles and holds 17 patents for his inventions. The Cancer Research Center of Hawai'i, a research unit of the University of Hawai'i, is one of 61 National Cancer Institute-designated centers throughout the U.S.
CHRISTINA LEE DANG has been promoted to the newly created position of associate director, internal audit, for Alexander & Baldwin Inc. Based in Oakland, Calif., the Hawai'i native has primary responsibility for auditing operations of A&B subsidiary Matson Navigation Co., in addition to supporting management of all A&B internal audit activities. Also, NATALIE I. KIEHM has joined A&B real estate subsidiary A&B Properties Inc. as vice president, development. The residential development and land planning veteran initially will be charged with responsibility for A&B Properties' Waiawa joint development venture with Gentry.
