A strike of Dairymen's milk plant employees halted milk deliveries on O'ahu, the Sept. 12, 1945, Advertiser reported

1967: The City Council votes to eliminate the penny parking meter.

1969: A predawn roundup of 12 AWOL servicemen in three Honolulu churches signaled a tough new miitary policy regarding service recalcitrants and an end to the sanctuary concept in the Islands. The raids were at Church of the Crossroads, Unitarian Church of Honolulu and the meeting house of the Religious Society of Friends. The servicemen were protesting the Vietnam. The first serviceman took sanctuary on Aug. 6.

1975: Aloha Stadium opens.
