Advertiser Staff

Police were searching for a 28-year-old Kalihi Kai man this morning after his girlfriend reported being stabbed in the shoulder late last night.

Officers were sent to the couple's home on Pu'uhale Road near Nimitz Highway on a domestic argument call and found the girlfriend, 29, with a knife sticking out of her shoulder.

The girlfriend told police she had been arguing with her boyfriend about 10:45 p.m. when he choked her, went to the kitchen and got a knife, said he was going to kill her and swung the knife at her.

The woman told police she was able to kick the man away, but not before he stabbed her. He left the apartment before police arrived and had not been located as of this morning. Police said the woman did not seek treatment for the stab wound.

When found, the boyfriend faces arrest on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder and felony abuse of a household member, police said.
