Man beats drinking partner unconscious

A 31-year-old was beaten unconscious by a drinking partner about 3:30 this morning in Kalihi, police said.

The injured man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center and was reported to be in critical condition upon his arrival there, but was later upgraded to serious condition.

Witness said the man who was knocked out had been drinking heavily with a 45-year-old man and that the two men got into an argument that escalated into a fist fight. The older man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Crime victim holds down thief until police arrive

Police arrested a 24-year-old Waipahu man early this morning after a Mililani Mauka man allegedly found him breaking into his truck.

The Mililani man, 45, told police he was awakened about 2:45 a.m. by the sound of someone tampering with his truck.

Police said the Mililani man was able to subdue the man he found in his truck until officers arrived at the home on Haike Place and arrested the other man on suspicion of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle as well as two unrelated contempt of court warrants.

Man, 22, arrested for alleged sexual assault

Police arrested a 22-year-old man who has no local address yesterday afternoon after a 42-year-old homeless woman told police the man sexually assaulted her and physically assaulted her 49-year-old friend when she tried to intervene.

The woman told police she was sleeping in her tent about 4:30 p.m. when she was confronted by a stranger who beat and sexually assaulted her and then beat her friend when she tried to stop what was happening.

Police arrested the suspect a short time later at a site opposite 94-592 Farrington Highway.

Man suspected of sexually abusing household members

Police arrested a 29-year-old Moili'ili man yesterday as a suspect in a sexual assault complaint filed on behalf of three girls — ages 8, 13 and 14 — and the physical assault of a 29-year-old woman, all of whom live in the same household with the suspect.

The girls are alleging that the sexual assaults took place during a two-year period. In the course of the investigation the woman told investigators that she was physically assaulted by the man as well.

He was arrested on suspicion of five counts of third-degree sexual assault and one count of abuse of a family or household member. Police did not say what the relationship was between the the suspect and the three girls or the woman.

Police reported finding drugs during a search of the man's Kolo Place home resulting in his additional arrest on suspicion of third-degree promotion of detrimental drugs.

Man caught using stolen credit card

Police arrested a 32-year-old man Mililani Man yesterday after he allegedly was caught using a stolen credit card at about 12:30 p.m. to purchase more than $1,000 worth of merchandise at the Sears store in the Pearlridge shopping center.

A 33 year-old man had reported the card stolen, police said.

The Mililani man was arrested on suspicion of fraudulent use of a credit card.

Woman sought for trying to steal packages

Police are looking for a woman wanted on suspicion of multiple felony offenses stemming from an incident with another woman about 11:30 a.m. yesterday at the Salt Lake Shopping Center.

Police said the woman who filed the complaint found the other woman removing packages from her car. The woman who took the packages that did not belong to her gave two of the three parcels back to the rightful owner, who then tried to detain the woman she found with her packages, police said.

They said the other woman was attempting to drive out of the parking lot when the woman who confronted her reached into the car to try to get the other woman to stop.

The woman driving the car refused to stop and the woman who was trying to make her stop was knocked to the ground, police said.

The woman who drove off had not been located of this morning, but will face arrest on suspicion of first-degree robbery, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in an injury, forgery and second-degree theft when she is found, police said.

Teen arrested for second-degree robbery

Police arrested a 15-year-old girl yesterday and are searching for a second girl in connection with a robbery reported by a 17-year-old girl.

The older girl told police she was standing at a bus stop about 12:45 p.m. Friday in Kalihi when the other two girls approached her, struck her several times, knocked her to the ground and took her purse and other personal property.

The girl who filed the complaint saw one of the suspects yesterday and identified her as one of the assailants, police said.

They then arrested the girl on suspicion of second-degree robbery.

Ex-boyfriend arrested for breaking in, stealing cell phone

Police arrested 20 year-old Waipahu man yesterday after he allegedly broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend and took her cell phone.

Police were told that the former boyfriend showed up at his ex-girlfriend's Waipahu home about 11 p.m. and was told by the girlfriend's mother to leave.

The mother told police she thought the man had left, but later discovered the daughter's cell phone was missing from her daughter's bedroom and that it appeared someone had entered the home through a bedroom window.

The mother then called police to file a report. When police went to the home, the daughter's new boyfriend reported being threatened by the former boyfriend, police said.

Officers were then sent to the former boyfriend's home and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree terroristic threatening and first-degree burglary. Police reported finding the missing cell phone in the suspect's pocket.
