Seibu Group puts Maui's Makena Resort up for sale

Advertiser Staff

The Japan-based owner of Makena Resort has put the 1,800-acre Maui property up for sale.

Seibu Group announced its plan to find a buyer for the South Maui resort, which includes the 310-room Maui Prince Hotel, two 18-hole golf courses and more than 1,000 acres zoned for development, but did not list an asking price.

Real-estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle was retained for the sale effort.

Seibu said it is not selling its other Hawai'i properties, which include the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki, Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel operated by Prince Resorts Hawaii.
