Husband reports knife-wielding threat

A 31 year-old Kalihi woman was arrested yesterday in connection with an incident on Saturday in which her husband, 33, reported being threatened by her with a knife.

The husband told police he was arguing with his wife about 7 p.m. when she grabbed a knife and threatened to stab him. Patrol officers went to the couple's home yesterday and arrested the wife on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.

Teen arrested in fanny pack theft incident

A 17-year-old boy was arrested near the Ala Moana Center last night after a fanny pack was stolen from a 54-year-old man.

Police were told the teen stole the man's pack about 8 p.m. and was running from the area when he was stopped by several off-duty Hawaii County police officers who happened to be in the area.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft but was later released without charges pending further investigation.

Man spotted sleeping in stolen car arrested

A 40-year-old man was arrested in Waikiki yesterday after he was found sleeping in a car that had been reported stolen.

When awakened at about 8:30 a.m., witnesses reported seeing him search through the car, remove several items and take off running.

Police found the man a short distance away and arrested him on suspicion of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.

Man arrested in gunpoint threat incident

A 40-year-old man was arrested yesterday in connection with an incident on Sunday at a junk yard in Pearl City in which two women reported having a gun pointed at them by a man who demanded they give him license plates and the vehicle registration for a car similar to the one he was driving.

The women said that when they refused to provide the items the man demanded, he pointed a handgun at them and told them not to leave. One of the women reportedly managed to slip away and call for help.

Police arrived, found the suspect, determined the car he drove to the yard had been stolen and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree robbery, kidnapping and unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

Two arrests in tie to 'punched' ignition

A 19-year-old man and 17-year-old boy were arrested in the downtown area yesterday after witnesses reported seeing the pair acting suspiciously near a car.

The two tried to run when police arrived, but were found nearby and arrested on suspicion of attempted unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

Patrol officers reported find the car's ignition "punched" and the wires to its alarm system cut.
