Barricaded man forces highway closure on North Shore

Honolulu police have shutdown Kamehameha Highway at the intersection with Joseph P. Leong road on the North Shore while they pursue a man who barricaded himself in his home.The department's Specialized Services Division is en route to the scene, which is taking place on a rural property backed by a tree line.
It is unclear why the man has barricaded himself in his home but officers have seen him running around the property with a backpack.
Officers have been unable to pass the gate surrounding the home because several pit bulls are loose and roaming the property.
