Stalled car backs up drive into town from Hawaii Kai

Advertiser Staff

Traffic heading into town from Hawaii Kai is backed up more than usual due to a stalled car on the H-1 Freeway just after the Koko Head Avenue overpass.

The back up at this hour extends all the way back beyond where Kalanianaole Highway merges with the freeway.

The drive in from Leeward and Central O'ahu is moving at about the usual pace for this time on a weekday morning.

That is to say the H-1/H-2 merge is clogged and moving very slowly.

The traffic remains heavy through Pearl City but lightens up quite a bit in 'Aiea. It slows again at the Middle Street merge and remains slow and heavy on in through Kalihi and Liliha but eases up once past the downtown exits.

Conditions are wet for drivers headed in from the windward side but there are no major accidents or incidents to report at this time.
