Leave it to Frank DeLima (and his writer, Patrick Downes) to parody the heated Senate election battle between incumbent Dan Akaka and challenger Ed Case. To the tune of the theme song to "Green Acres," DeLima sings about the veteran and the wannabe, "Da Senate is the place for me," reflecting the gentleness of Akaka and the slickness of Case in his delivery.

Aired by some radio stations, the tune is not available for purchase. DeLima said he doesn't know if either candidate has heard the ditty. "In my mind, it was a natural to have fun. ... The race is so tense," he said. He'll be voting in the primary today, but won't say for whom.

SIMPSON FEELS 'HUMBLED' BY ROLE

LONDON — Ashlee Simpson says she relates to her role as fame-hungry Roxie Hart in the London run of the musical "Chicago." She's been there, done that.

"The play is absolutely all about celebrity and wanting to be famous and having your name in the papers and your picture in the papers," the 21-year-old singer-actress told AP Radio in a recent interview. "And, in that sense, it's been kind of cool because I've really got to connect to that, because I've seen that world and been in that world."

Simpson, whose 2004 debut album "Autobiography" was a hit despite her "Saturday Night Live" lip-synching snafu, called her role "extremely humbling."

'FRIENDS' ACTOR ENDS MARRIAGE

LOS ANGELES — After a little more than three years of marriage, Matt LeBlanc has finalized his divorce.

The 39-year-old actor has been granted joint custody of his 2-year-old daughter, Marina, with wife Melissa LeBlanc, according to court papers filed Wednesday. Melissa LeBlanc has two children from a previous marriage.

The LeBlancs filed for divorce on April 6, citing irreconcilable differences. They will be officially single again on Oct. 6.

Under the terms of the divorce, LeBlanc will be financially responsible for his daughter's education, nanny and other needs. He will also pay $15,000 a month in child support.

The pair married in a celebrity-studded wedding in Hawai'i in 2003 with several of LeBlanc's "Friends" co-stars in attendance.

LINDSAY LOHAN GIVEN THE BOOT

People magazine says Lindsay Lohan, 20, was discarded by her boyfriend, Harry Morton, the 25-year-old owner of the Pink Taco restaurant chain.

The couple's passion burned for three months.

Unnamed source: "She's young and a little bit immature. Harry's more low-key and not into the same stuff she's into." No comments from either lovebird's representative.

'DESPERATE WIFE' HAVING TWINS

Marcia Cross and her brand-new husband, Tom Mahoney, who wed in June and recently announced they are expecting, will be welcoming two Desperate Babies, and not one, in April, Us Weekly reports.

Cross' condition has thrown "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry into a quandary: Incorporate the pregnancy in the story or hide it?
