Hawai'i's Dean Wilson continued his best year on the PGA Tour with a tie for second place Sunday at the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio, pushing his season earnings to more than $2 million.

Wilson, a Castle High alum, shot a final round 1-under-par 69 to finish at 12-under 268, three strokes behind winner Eric Axley (71). Anthony Kim (65) and Justin Rose (68) finished tied with Wilson.

Wilson, who now lives in Las Vegas, won $298,667 moving his season earnings to $2.28 million. He earned $821,903 in 2005.

Earlier this year, Wilson earned his first PGA Tour victory at the International. He has had six top 10 finishes this season. He joined the tour in 2003.

Kim, who recently turned pro, lost to Kaua'i's Casey Watabu in the championship match of the U.S. Amateur Public Links in July. Kim was playing in his first PGA Tour event on a sponsor's exemption.
