Traffic slow from Leeward, Central Oahu

Advertiser Staff

The new work week is getting off to a slow start for drivers headed into town from Leeward and Central O'ahu.

At this time, traffic on the H-1 Freeway begins to stack up near the Waikele Shopping center.

The H-1/H-2 merge is bumper-to-bumper and the traffic remains heavy and slow until past the Waimalu on-ramps. It continues at a good clip through 'Aiea and along the Airport Viaduct but slows to a crawl through the Middle Street merge and remains heavy until once past the Kinau Street exit.

Traffic headed in from the Hawaii Kai area is moving well but begins to slow at the Koko Head Avenue and remains heavy into and through the university area.

There are no significant problems driving in from the windward side at this hour.
