KAUA'I MARRIOTT RESORT & BEACH CLUB CELEBRATES COMPLETION OF MULTI-MILLION

DOLLAR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

LIHUE, HAWAII – The highly anticipated porte cochere that was under a

year-long renovation at the beachfront Kaua'i Marriott Resort & Beach Club

was unveiled today in a special Hawaiian blessing ceremony. Indigenous Haupu

ferns, ornamental pineapple plants and exotic tropical Hawaiian flora and

fauna adorn the newly redesigned porte cochere and main entrance. The

pineapple, a symbol of hospitality for centuries, serves as a representation

for the highest quality in hospitality.

"After the successful completion of the multi-million dollar capital

improvement project, we are delighted to unveil not only the newly

redesigned porte cochere, but also the main driveway and the separate area

for arriving group tour buses and coaches," said Bill Countryman, general

manager at Kaua'i Marriott Resort & Beach Club. "We now have a fabulous

main arrival entryway that will, indeed, set the tone and mood for our

guests who seek to fulfill their long-awaited Hawaiian dream vacation."

Hotel guest Judy Moore of Los Gatos, California, who was present at the

Hawaiian blessing ceremony, said that she was happy to be able to witness

the beautiful Hawaiian traditions performed by Hawaiian Cultural Specialist

and Kumu Hula, Kehaulani Kekua. "For the past seven years, I have

vacationed at Kaua'i Marriott Resort & Beach Club with my family and

friends, and we are delighted to see the resort continues to invest in

upgrading its facilities," said Moore.

Part of the special project focused on upgrading the resort's storm drain

line system due to the overflow of steady water runoff from the torrential

rain over Kauai in January 2005. The effects of the storm caused sinkholes

in the hotel parking lot and main entryway. During the project, the resort

continued normal operations and created alternative parking space close to

Kauai Lagoons golf club. Complimentary shuttle services for guests and

visitors were also arranged between the resort's front entrance and the

parking area, golf club, as well as Lihue airport.

Overlooking the scenic Kalapaki Beach and Nawiliwili Bay, the Kaua'i

Marriott Resort & Beach Club is located on 51 prime oceanfront acres on

Kaua'i's east side. It offers 356 well-appointed guestrooms and features

four restaurants and two lounges, a Fitness and Aerobics Center,

full-service day spa, and 26,000 square-foot swimming pool – one of the

largest in Hawai'i. Experience the popular Paradise Plus Hawaiian vacation

package beginning from $289.00, which includes daily room accommodations and

a choice of daily breakfast or daily rental car. For more information or to
