First North Shore swell of the season expected Friday

Advertiser Staff

Woohoo!

The first good-size swell of the fall and winter season is headed for O'ahu's North Shore and is expected to arrive there on Friday with surf near the advisory level of 15 feet, according to the National Weather Service.

The northwest swell was generated by former typhoon Yagi. The really big swell will be preceded by a smaller one due in tomorrow along north-facing shores.

Today's forecast calls for surf of 1 to 3 feet along east-facing shores, 2 to 4 along south-facing shores and 1 to 3 along north-facing shores.
