Mauka, windward showers expected again today

National Weather Service forecasters are keeping close watch on the skies over the island chain this morning following the deluge on some parts of O'ahu yesterday.

A low-level high pressure system northeast of the state will result in weak to moderate trade winds across the main islands throughout the remainder of the work week.

Most showers are expected to remain in windward and mauka areas, but any that form through the remainder of this morning could be heavy, forecasters said.

Following is a detailed look at the rest of the work week:

Today, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs 79 to 87. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. Tonight, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 67 to 78. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Thursday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 81 to 88. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Thursday night, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 67 to 78. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Friday, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs 81 to 88. East winds around 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
