Lingle will debate challenger Iwase

Gov. Linda Lingle and Randall Iwase, her Democratic opponent in the general election, will appear in a televised debate on Oct. 6.Lingle agreed to the debate today. Iwase has called for debates in all four counties.
The debate will be from 7 to 8 p.m. at the studios of KITV-4. It will be televised on all network stations statewide.
Lingle has also agreed to participate in a joint appearance at a gubernatorial candidate forum, hosted by the Kona Kohala Chamber of Commerce, League of Women Voters and Kona Outdoor Circle.
