Chase ends in arrests

Four men were arrested yesterday after an off-duty Honolulu Police detective thought there was something suspicious about the car they were in when they arrived at a Pearl City store yesterday.

Police said the detective about 12:45 p.m. called police dispatchers, who confirmed that the car had been reported stolen.

The dispatchers sent other police officers, who arrived just as the four men were leaving in the car.

Officers ordered the car to stop, at which point the men jumped out and ran. Police were able to catch up with all of them and arrested the driver on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

The three passengers were arrested on suspicion of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.
