Fire department promotions announced

Longtime Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Kenison Tejada is among five new battalion chiefs who will be officially recognized at a 9 a.m. promotion ceremony Wednesday at HFD's auditorium, 636 South St.

Tejada, a 25-year HFD veteran who was the department's public information officer for 12 years, has been assigned to the Fire Communications Center, where he will oversee HFD personnel who manage receipt of 911 calls and dispatch HFD companies to emergencies.

The other new battalion chiefs are:

i Albert K. T. Mahoe, 17-year HFD veteran who will command the Second Battalion, Second Platoon in East Honolulu;

i 24-year veteran Scott K. Mosher, Central O'ahu's Fifth Battalion, Third Platoon;

i Sigmund K. Oka, also with 24 years experience, who will head the Leeward Coast's Fourth Battalion, Third Platoon;

i and Dave M. Takehara, a 21-year HFD veteran who has been assigned to Leeward's Fourth Battalion, First Platoon.
