The University of Hawai'i football team opened spring practice today at UH practice field on the campus.

NCAA record-setting quarterback Colt Brennan participated in the practice.

The defense only participated in half the practice and spent the rest of the time watching film as they learn to play a 4-3 defensive scheme.

UH played a 3-4 scheme under former defensive coordinator Jerry Glanville the past two seasons. Glanville is now the head coach at Portland State.

The next practices will be held Wednesday and Thursday from 7 to 9 a.m.
