UH moot court team in nation's top 8

Mark Disher, a second-year law student at the William S. Richardson School of Law, was named Best Oralist at the the 2007 Hispanic National Bar Association's 12th Annual National Moot Court Competition, helping the UH HIspanic Moot Court team to a top eight finish in the 32-team competition.

The event was held in Minneapolis.

The competition included such top law schools as the University of Pennsylvania, Syracuse, Northwestern, Wisconsin, BYU, and Colorado. This was the first time the UH law school sent an official WSRSL Moot Court team. Other members of the team are third-year law student Kristl Ishikane, and second-year law students Mars Johnson.

As the winner of the "1st Place Oral Advocacy Award – Male," Disher received a $250 scholarship from the College Loan Corporation and the Hispanic National Bar Foundation.

The team was coached by Elizabeth Robinson, Colette Honda, and Kirsha Durante.
