'I snorted my father' says Keith Richards

Advertiser Staff

In an interview with the British music paper New Musical Express, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards admitted snorting his father's ashes, reports Agence France-Presse.

"The strangest thing I've tried to snort? My father, I snorted my father," said Richards in the interview. "He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit" of cocaine, the news agency cited Richards as saying. "It went down pretty well and I'm still alive."

Richards, whose father Bert died in 2002 at age 84, co-wrote Rolling Stones hits including "Brown Sugar" and "Miss You," and was also the inspiration for Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow character in "Pirates of the Caribbean," the newswire said.
