Whitfield to manage Four Seasons Resort Hualalai

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has named Robert Whitfield the general manager of the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on the North Kona coast of the Big Island.

Whitfield, who has more than 25 years in the industry, was most recently general manager of the 200-room Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley in Palo Alto, Calif. where he led the team that opened that hotel.

He replaces Kathleen Horrigan, who transferred to the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach in Florida. The Hualalai resort at historic Ka'upulehu consists of 243 rooms in 36 low-rise bungalow and recently was named No. 1 Hotel in Hawai'i by Travel & Leisure magazine.
