Another day of sunshine, gentle trade winds

A weather system north of the state will keep the trade winds blowing at moderate speed today, according to the National Weather Service.

The system is expected to move closer to the islands by tomorrow, causing the winds to become much lighter with daytime sea breezes and nighttime offshore breezes developing tomorrow and continuing through Saturday, forecasters said.

No significant rain is expected for the remainder of the work week.

Here are more details about the next few days:

  • Today, sunny. Highs, 75 degrees to 81 degrees. Northeast winds, 10 mph to 15 mph.

  • Tonight, mostly clear. Lows, around 63 degrees. Northeast winds, 10 mph.

  • Tomorrow, sunny. Highs, 75 degrees to 81 degrees. North winds, 10 mph and shifting to the south in the afternoon.

  • Tomorrow night, mostly clear. Lows, 61 degrees to 67 degrees. Light winds.

  • Thursday, sunny. Isolated showers in the afternoon. Highs, 76 degrees to 82 degrees. Light winds moving south at about10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain: 20 percent.

  • Thursday night, mostly clear. Lows, 62 degrees to 69 degrees. Light winds.
