Arrest at sea in sailboat theft incident

A 46-year-old woman was arrested yesterday after she allegedly forged ownership papers for a 29-foot sailboat and began to sail it away from Honolulu Harbor without the owner's permission.

Police said they received a tip on the boat's whereabouts and located it with the help of the Coast Guard, state Department of Land and Natural Resources enforcement officers and the state Harbor Police.

The woman aboard the boat was arrested about noon on suspicion of second-degree forgery, second-degree theft and a contempt of court warrant.

Speeding traffic stop leads to car theft-related arrests

A 32-year-old woman was arrested early this morning after police stopped her in Hale'iwa for allegedly speeding and learned the car she was driving had been reported stolen from a 24-year-old man.

Police ordered the woman to pull over about 1:40 a.m. this morning near the intersection of Kamehameha and Joseph Leong highways.

After finding the car had been reported stolen, they arrested the driver on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

A 36-year-old Palolo man who was a passenger in the car was also arrested, on suspicion of second-degree unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.

Teen arrested in slow-moving stolen-car incident

A 15-year-old boy was arrested at about 3:45 this morning after police reported finding the boy driving a car that had been stolen from a 70-year-old man.

A police officer noticed the car driving very slowly and repeatedly around the block in Liliha.

The officer ran the license plate number and found the car was on the stolen-vehicle list.

The officer ordered the boy driving the car to pull over and arrested him on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

Man arrested in tie to wallet theft complaint

An 18-year-old man with no local address was arrested early this morning in connection with a complaint filed last night by a 17-year-old boy who told police his wallet was stolen from him as he sat at a bus stop at Kapi'olani Boulevard and Ke'eaumoku Street about 9:50 p.m.

The boy told police the man took his wallet and ran away.

Police said officers were investigating an unrelated case when they noticed a man who fit the description of the offender in the wallet-theft case.

They conducted a field show-up and the boy whose wallet was stolen identified a suspect who was arrested fronting 1680 Kapi'olani Blvd. on suspicion of second-degree theft.

Girlfriend's report of physical abuse prompts arrest

A 35-year-old Waipahu man was arrested about 8 p.m. last night in connection with a series of events reported to police by his 34-year-old girlfriend.

The woman told police that about 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, her boyfriend punched her, lightly poked her in the ribs with a knife and threatened to kill her.

She said that about 8 a.m. on Sunday, the boyfriend slapped and punched her multiple times in Kalihi and did the same thing about 8 p.m. last night in Waikiki.

The boyfriend was arrested last night on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and two counts of abuse of a family or household member.

Arrest in 'Ewa Beach garage tires theft incident

A 29-year-old man was arrested about 7 p.m. yesterday after he allegedly took some tires laying against the side of a garage in 'Ewa Beach.

Police arrested the man on suspicion of second-degree theft.

Uninvited visitor incident leads to arrest

Police arrested a 21-year-old man yesterday after he allegedly ran into the apartment of a 20-year-old Wai'anae man without being invited while trying to elude police who were trying to perform a traffic stop.

Police said the man was arrested about 4:25 p.m. on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a dwelling. Police believe the man who was arrested was trying to hide from police.

Man reportedly assaults two officers during arrest

Police arrested a 30 year-old man in Kane'ohe last night after he allegedly assaulted the two officers trying to arrest him on suspicion of violating a temporary restraining officer.

Police said when officers arrived at the man's home on Kamehameha Highway about 6:30 p.m. he assaulted the first officer who tried to arrest him and then a second officer.

The two officers were eventually able to subdue the man and arrested him on suspicion of two counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer.

The also arrested him on suspicion of resisting arrest, abusing a household or family member and two contempt of court warrants.
