Students, parents invited to two-day job fair

High school and community college students and their parents are invited to a job fair where they can also enter to win a new Gateway notebook computer.

The two-day Career & Technical Student Organization State Convention starts tomorrow at the Hawai'i Convention Center and is free and open to the public. The event is from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Maui Ballroom, Room 316.

Students from 38 schools are participating in individual and team competitions in the following areas:

  • DECA: An association of marketing students (marketing, management, retail merchandising and entrepreneurship)

  • FCCLA: family and consumer sciences

  • HOSA: health occupations

  • SkillsUSA: industrial and engineering

    Convention Gold sponsors include American Savings Bank, HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union and the Career & Technical Education Center.
