Company wants to build taller

Advertiser Staff

An East Honolulu zoning change request will get a public hearing at 1:30 p.m. April 18 at the Human Resources Conference Room, City Hall Annex, 550 S. King St.

The applicant and partial landowner, 21st Century Homes Inc., wants to increase the height limit on 3.8 acres of vacant land on Hawai'i Kai Drive.

The existing zoning allows for a 40- to 60-foot height in the medium-density apartment district, and the applicant wants a 90-foot height limit.

Century Homes and Western Pacific Development LLC own the land.
