Alo sisters win national wrestling gold medals

Honolulu's Teniya and Teshya Alo struck gold in the Elementary Division at last weekend's 10th Annual U.S. Girls Wrestling Association National Championships at Livonia Churchill High School in Livonia, Mich.

Teniya Alo won her title in the 48.5-pound division and Teshya got hers at 59.8 pounds.

Hau'ula's Cianah Hee fared best in the High School Division, reaching the 118-pound final before falling to Oklahoma's Joey Miller.

Danica Auna (Hau'ula) took third at 122 pounds. Kailua's Monique Dilliner (144 pounds) and Honolulu's Olivia Fatongia (165-up) earned fourths.

Stephanie Geltmacher (Kane'ohe) got fifth at 134 pounds. Carla Watase (Honolulu) and Amanda Soliai (Lai'e) were seventh in their weight classes.
