Students tying yellow ribbons for military appreciation

Advertiser Staff

More than 500 students at 'Aikahi Elementary School in Kailua will be tying yellow ribbons on the school fence and school trees tomorrow to show support for the military.

More than 26 percent of the students at the school have families in the military, school officials said.

Students with deployed family members will tie large personalized ribbons onto trees around campus. They will take the bows home at the end of the school year.
