5 new HFD battalion chiefs celebrate promotion today

The Honolulu Fire Department will hold a promotion ceremony at 9 this morning to celebrate five new battalion chiefs.

It will be held at HFD's Headquarters Auditorium.

The new battalion chiefs are:

Albert K. T. Mahoe, a 17-year veteran, has been assigned to Second Battalion, Second Platoon to oversee HFD companies in east Honolulu.

  • Scott K. Mosher, who has 24 years with HFD, has been assigned to the Fifth Battalion, Third Platoon to oversee HFD companies in central O'ahu.

  • Sigmund K. Oka, who has 24 years of service, has been assigned to the Fourth Battalion, Third Platoon to oversee HFD companies on the Leeward Coast.

  • Dave M. Takehara, who has 21 years of experience, has been assigned to the Fourth Battalion, First Platoon to oversee HFD companies on the Leeward Coast.

  • Kenison L. Tejada, who has 25 years with HFD, has been assigned to the Fire Communications Center, where he will oversee HFD personnel who manage incoming 911 calls and dispatch HFD companies to emergencies.
